Bulova 2YC-23 AM/SW 7-Transistor Radio (1959) Bulova 2YC-23 AM/SW 7-Transistor Radio (1959).   The very first radio I bought was one identical to this; that was in 1959. Cost me $60, which was a lot for a high school student back then (I lost it along the way). I bought this as a memento, and it works on AM using internal antenna, but needs a whip or wire antenna for SW. Tuning is "scratchy" at places; would benefit from a tuneup. It is missing the leather case, whip antenna and nut at the antenna port. Has what looks like a cigarette burn near the antenna port. I found another with the case and antenna and had it rebuilt, so this is an extra. I think it is a rare radio. Except for the burn is in excellent condition and quite heavy. Nice chrome front. Uses four "AA" batteries. 6"W x 3-1/4"H x 1-5/8"D.  Phil Bartells.   E-mail: pbartells@verizon.net  $59.95.  (ends 10/14/2018)  (0000098)

Firestone 4A78 (1950) Firestone 4A78 (1950).   Here we have "family"...another one of those "Twin Sons Of Different Mothers!" Anybody out there old enough might remember Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg's memorable album from the 70s by the same name. This little chocolate brown swirled Bakelite Firestone may have been their inspiration. But, then again, maybe not. Anyway, it has been electronically reconditioned and aligned with new paper and electrolytic capacitors and all out of tolerance resistors were replaced. The five tubes are strong. Plays good! Hickok 620 TV Linear Pattern Generator (1949) Hickok 620 TV Linear Pattern Generator (1949).   This Crystal Controlled Linearity-Pattern (LP) Generator was designed to help the service man in the proper service of TV receivers. It can be used for many purposes, including: vertical & horizontal linearity adjustments (including hold controls), trouble shooting when no TV transmitter is on the air (like now), receiver sensitivity, horizontal deflection circuit for hum, and many other uses. It powers up but is untested and sold as-is (one of the screws on the front is stripped so it will have to be drilled out to get inside). Includes no power cord (cheater type needed) and no test cord. Original manual is included. I have digital copy of manual and can email to you, or visit this site for a free download. Megatone Transistor Radio (1959-60) Megatone Transistor Radio (1959-60).   This is an early AM/FM Transistor set. Its black and chrome case is in very nice condition and appears to have been hardly used. MESCO 113 Giant Sounder MESCO 113 Giant Sounder.   This is a 19th Century Mesco 113 20-Ohm telegraph sounder (receiver). I did restore this sounder to working condition. I was not able to determine the exact year of manufacturer, but believe it to be in late 1800's. This is known as the Giant 20 ohm sounder. It was manufactured by Manhattan Electrical Supply Co. in New York. It also was known as a telegraph receiver. There is a lot of real history here from the early railroad days. You add a battery and a telegraph key, and you can send Manual Morse code to this receiver. This was communications at its best until the 1920's. Philco 51-930 (1951) Philco 51-930 (1951).   Please allow me to clarify that this is one beautiful gray Philco Bakelite radio with the original factory paint job! In addition to being knock-down gorgeous it, not unlike a person, has a couple of "unique" personality characteristics. Specifically, a rub spot (see picture) from too much polishing though the years and something I've never seen before: the decorative brass plate is a bit out of kilter. A rare radio to be sure. The brass plate is intact and the two rivets that hold it on the case are original. It appears to be a factory oversight. Electronically reconditioned and aligned with new paper and electrolytic capacitors, and all out of tolerance resistors were replaced. The six tubes are strong. Plays very good with external antenna for greater station sensitivity. On the Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" "She's Good Lookin' and She sure can Cook" Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 13-1/4"W x 7-3/4"H x 7-3/4"D.  Jim Dennis.   E-mail: jimdnns@gmail.com  $180.00.  (ends 10/14/2018)  (0000067)

RCA Victor 3-RD-35 Clock Radio (About 1960) RCA Victor 3-RD-35 Clock Radio (About 1960).   This is a working five-tube clock radio from about 1960. It has been re-capped and has a full set of good tubes. The cabinet looks pretty nice. The only visible flaw is a crack on the very side of the clock cover. Looking at the unit head-on this is not seen (see pictures). The clock motor runs quietly. The radio is working well, but might benefit from just a little more tweaking on the alignment. The PC board has a bit of darkening around the 50C5 and 35W4 tubes, as is typical of PC board based sets of this time period. All in all, a decent tube type (five-tube) clock radio at an affordable price. This is well suited to a radio hobbyist who likes the styling and color of this unit. A cheater cord is included. Double-boxed shipping is an additional $25. This sounds expensive, but there is absolutely no profit being made on shipping. Properly packing and shipping a delicate and sometimes heavy item simply is not cheap. PayPal only, please. I'll be out of town until May 10 but I'll reply to e-mails as soon as I return.  Greg Plant.   E-mail: texasradiorestoration@gmail.com  $35.00.  (ends 10/14/2018)  (0000062)

Transistor Radio Lot of Three: Realtone TR-8611, Channel Master, Sony Clone Transistor Radio Lot of Three: Realtone TR-8611, Channel Master, Sony Clone.   You get all three radios listed below.

Realtone TR-8611 Constellation, fair condition. I don't see any cracks nor chips other than a couple small spots of something hot touching the radio on the corner. Metal front is dinged up and dirty and radio has scratches and scuffs, probably a parts set, untested condition (9V battery connector missing).

Realistic (Radio Shack) 12-171, tiny "clone" of the Sony ICR-200 radio; somewhat similar to the Sony right down to shape, size and knob placement. Fair shape couple cracks on bottom otherwise not too bad, maybe a parts set. I tried it with a 9v battery and it barely tuned in stations, controls very touchy will need repairs if you want to use it.

And a tiny Channel Master micro AM transistor radio.   E-mail: dmradios@aol.com  $19.00.  (ends 10/14/2018)  (0000109)

Trav-Ler 55-37 (1955) Trav-Ler 55-37 (1955).   Here is a somewhat unique beautifully swirled brown Bakelite Trav-Ler from '55! It happens to be my favorite Chevy Bel Air year, too! This Trav-Ler is different for a couple of reasons; 1) It has an early "Conelrad" logo(s) on the dial scale and, 2) the dial scale itself is exposed - there's no glass or plastic dial cover. Yeah, different! Electronically reconditioned and aligned with new paper and electrolytic capacitors and all out of tolerance resistors were replaced. The five tubes are strong. Plays good with an extra hank of antenna wire for greater station sensitivity. On the Jim Dennis "Scale of Beauty" "Bel Air Hardtop" Special! Two-Tube Regenerative Tuner, Amplifier, Horn Speaker, Headphones (1920s) Two-Tube Regenerative Tuner, Amplifier, Horn Speaker, Headphones (1920s).   This radio set dates from 1923 or 1924. It is a two-tube regenerative type tuner with an audio amplifier that drives the horn or headphones. The horn and headphones have been checked using a 9 volt battery by touching the leads to the battery intermittently, producing a clicking, static sound. The last time the set was used was about 15 years ago; it was working then.
The power supply was built in the 1960's or 1970's by the original owner so that it can be run without batteries.
According to attached metal identification plates:
1. The tuner is a "Michigan 'Junior' Regenerative Receiver Type MRC-8 Manufactured by Klitzen Radio Manufacturing Company Exclusively for Michigan Radio Corporation Under Armstrong U.S. Patent 1,113,149, and Pending Letters of Patent 807,388. For Amateur and Experimental use only."
2. The tuner and amplifier are Michigan Radio Corp, Grand Rapids, Serial Numbers 1061 and 2027 respectively.
3. The speaker horn is Resonophone Mfg Co, Detroit Michigan, Patent Pending.
4. The headset is C. Brandes Inc, New York, Matched Tone, Patent Pending.

Westinghouse H42T4 (1959) Westinghouse H42T4 (1959).   It seemed that only after the halcyon days of radio did case colors begin to take on their own personality. A case in point is this little Aqua Westinghouse. A small, discreet radio to add a bit of pizazz to most any room with a contemporary flare... at least in 1959. It has been electronically reconditioned and aligned with new paper and electrolytic capacitors and out of tolerance resistors were replaced. The four tubes are strong. Plays nice.
