Here is a classic Robert Budlong designed pre-WWII Zenith portable which would look great standing in any collection. Budlong was one of Zenith's classic designers. It is in very nice condition to be 95 years old. It is missing its small drop-down front partial cover, but has all its original parts and is still working and playing, turning in all my local AM stations. The reception is decent when tuned in to my stronger AM stations but could use a recap as there is quite a bit of scratchiness between stations. This model originally was available in five versions: 6G601D Blue and gray Airplane fabric; 6G601L Genuine Top Grain Cowhide; 6G601M Brown Airplane fabric; 6G601MH Brown and Ivory Airplane fabric 6G601ML Simulated Brown Alligator. This Zenith is an AC/DC battery operated portable six-tube BC band receiver. The BC band frequency tuning range is 540 to 1620kHz. This would be a nice focal point displayed in your collection since it would look like a vintage radio instead of a suitcase! It would also be an excellent parts candidate with all its original knobs, chassis, tubes, beautiful dial, sailboat fabric speaker cover, perfect handle, antenna and antenna connection strap. It has a good line cord. Shipping anywhere will be by the most reasonable method. 15"W x 10"H x 7"D. David Spivey. E-mail: wdspivey@outlook.com Phone: 501-551-4277 $72.00. (0000124) |
