Zenith 6-D-312 (1938)

I think the lowest, entry level position at the Zenith factory must have been the guy who stamps the model info on the cabinets and chassis. They are almost always terrible. This one, however is almost perfect! Some folks call this the "beehive" although I think that is actually a different model. The cabinet is very nice with no cracks and very few dings/scratches. Looks better than the photo booth made it. Broadcast only, with four presets. My usual thorough chassis restoration with all high testing tubes for long service life. The 5-inch speaker has a small, very professional repair. I gave it a coat of the Parts Express Black Magic speaker coating to prevent further fractures and improve the bass response. I had to make a back cover for it. All told this is a very nice radio. This model topped out on the Radio Attic at $395 in 2011. Requires an external antenna. About 12-1/2"W x 7-3/4"H x 6-1/2"D.  Mike Boessen.   E-mail: mboessen@ktis.net  $349.00.  (0000085)
