Airline 25WGW-1552 (1952).  SOLD!  Here's a basic Mid Century Modern five-tube Montgomery Ward Airline brand bedside radio. Nice original crack free cabinet. A couple of superficial scratches on the top that do not detract from the overall appearance. The natural finish cabinet still has an amazing marble swirl pattern. It has been recapped, controls cleaned & lubricated, so it plays loud and strong across the dial with its built-in loop antenna, or use the attached 3.5mm cord to play your own content. 12-1/2"W x 8"H x 6"D.  (0000131)

Crosley 5M3 (1934).  SOLD!  A well preserved, Art Deco inspired, five-tube mini tombstone, known as a Junior or Fiver. The cabinet on these was made of a plain wood covered with a faux woodgrain finish on all sides. Usually, this thin decal like covering is hopelessly scratched or missing, but it's still in very nice shape on this example. The chassis has been gone through with all new filter & paper caps and out of tolerance resistors changed. A strong tested set of tubes and new cloth line cord was added. The back of the chassis features a nice intact NRA label dated 1934! These primitive TRF sets need a long wire antenna attached to receive stations, the longer the better for more distant reception. The antenna is connected directly to the volume control, so the louder you turn the volume, the stronger the stations come in (just the opposite of modern radios, start out loud and work your way down as you approach a strong station). Despite this model's reputation for less than stellar performance, with a proper antenna this example should provide more than adequate reception. Because of the primitive TRF circuitry, my standard add-on 3.5mm cord could not be installed on this unit. 12"H x 10"W x 8"D.  (0000133)

Crosley 9-114W (1948).  SOLD!  Here's a post war five-tube Crosley table model. Receives all of my local stations or use the aux 3.5mm cord, included at no extra cost, to play your own content. The chassis has been gone through with all new filter and paper capacitors, strong tested set of tubes, new line cord, controls cleaned and lubricated. Crack free cabinet featuring its original paint as does the gold mesh metal grill insert. A few minor "flea bite" chips in the original paint were carefully touched up and it displays like new. 12-1/2"W x 8-1/2"H x 7"D.  (0000134)

Emerson DQ398-CH-DQ (1941) .  SOLD!  This rare and desirable Emerson features an Ingraham designed cabinet that is totally unique in its shape. Featuring inlayed pinstripes (an Ingraham trademark), these don't turn up too often! With five tubes, it receives all of my local AM stations. Plays strong across the dial with its large built-in loop antenna. Or use the 3.5mm aux cord, included at no extra cost, to play your own content. All electrolytic and paper caps have been replaced, tubes tested strong, controls were cleaned and lubricated. Cabinet was refinished using spray toners and topped with a spray of clear enamel for durability. Original Emerson pointed knobs. Little Giant HFL-4 (1931).  SOLD!  The Little Giant from Radio Products Corp. is a rare set. It does fit the norm for small cathedral sets from the early 1930's. It is a four-tube TRF radio. The cabinet is in excellent condition and has been beautifully refinished. The grille cloth is reproduction but matches the original. The chassis has been serviced and retains the original speaker and power cord. The radio gets strong clear reception across the dial which has the early 0 to 100 scale. If you are not familiar with TRF sets, they will squeal if you turn the volume too high. A nice example from a little known manufacturer. 14"H x 10"W x 7"D.  (0000014)

Master Crafters Electric Ship Clock (1940s).  SOLD!  Nice companion piece for the Majestic Melody Cruiser ship radio, this appears to be from the 1940's. Unrestored and nothing happens when plugged in but may just need lubrication. Quite impressive looking! Some of the masts are loose and need to be re-tightened but everything is there. 13-1/2"W x 12-1/2"H x 4-1/2"D.  (0000153)

Philco 37-60.  SOLD!  From the 1937 model year, this Philco two-band has a refinished cabinet and restored chassis. The front of the cabinet was originally a photo-finish decal which had chipped away from age so the original pattern has been duplicated with lacquer toners and a semi-gloss clear. All wax and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, resistors and tubes checked and alignment peaked. These sets have great sensitivity but need a long wire antenna for reception. 17"H x 14"W x 9"D.  (0000103)

Philco 38-62 (1938) .  SOLD!  Bold Art Deco styling is prevalent on this five-tube Philco. Cabinet is original finish, including the "Philcote" faux woodgrain finish front panel, usually hopelessly chipped or sanded off. As it darkened with age, I added a more prominent pin-striping to accent the aesthetics of the cabinet. Cabinet was given a light spray of clear enamel to preserve the finish. Grille cloth is original. Original dial scale has a small chip on the top edge and some darkened areas + one worn off spot. All filter and paper capacitors replaced. Tubes all tested good. Plays loud and strong, receiving all of my local stations. Requires a long wire external antenna to receive stations. Because a universal antenna coil was installed to replace the faulty original, the police band is non-functional (nothing much can be received on it anyway). Or use the 3.5mm aux cord, included at no extra cost, to play your own content. 16"W x 10-1/2"H x 9"D.  (0000128)

Philco 52-548 Transitone (1952) .  SOLD!  This Philco is reportedly called the "Wedge." It sports a very modern design also seen in early Bakelite TV sets. Mid Century Modern meets George Jetson! Even more remarkable, this is the original Philco factory ivory paint job that was applied to the Bakelite crack-free cabinet back in 1952! There are a few very minor pin head size paint chips but they don't detract. It retains its original beautiful shine. Even the gold anodized trim on the knobs is still bright and shiny. A true survivor! It has a strong tested set of tubes, new line cord, been recapped, mica replaced in IF Transformer, controls cleaned/lubricated, so it plays strong across the dial with its built-in large stick antenna or use the attached included free of charge 3.5mm aux cord to play your own audio content through the radio. Beautiful lighted dial. A very unique and unusual set, with a fully enclosed cabinet. 14"W x 8"H x 10"D.  (0000129)

RCA 56X (1945).  SOLD!  Exceptionally nice red dot dial, six-tube classic design RCA. Has bass & treble control knob, unusual for a set of this type, and a beautiful dial glass. The cabinet had a small piece broken out on the bottom back corner that was repaired. It has been repainted in gorgeous, bold Kiwi enamel that accents the maroon dial. It receives all of my local stations easily with its built-in loop antenna. Western Electric 15B Mainline R.R. Telegraph Sounder (1800s).  SOLD!  Collectable authentic Western Electric model 15B mainline telegraph sounder. You see these on old western movies. This is a working sounder. I checked the coils, and they read 148 ohms. I used a telegraph key, and this sounder produced the authentic clicks and clacks. These were made here in the U.S.A. Zenith Royal 300 (1957).  SOLD!  Highly collectable Zenith Royal 300 AM seven-transistor radio. I restored this radio with all brand new electrolytic capacitors and other components as needed. Tuned all circuits for great reception of AM broadcast radio stations. Cleaned inside and out. There are no chips, cracks, or dents. There are a couple scratches on the front bezel. Zenith Royal 500N (1965) .  SOLD!  Very collectable Nice Zenith Royal Deluxe 500N eight-transistor AM radio. This a nice working radio; receives lots of AM broadcast radio stations across the entire band. What a nice sounding radio with clear audio. I retuned all the circuits, and cleaned it inside and out. No chips, cracks, or dents.The little front badge is missing. Radio requires four "AA" batteries (not included). Radio comes with the partial leather case. About 5-1/8"W x 4-3/4"H x 2"D.
